In many industries the New Year brings out changes to the products that they offer their customers. Sometimes completely new products are offered, and other times minor details to existing products are modified. Normally when these modifications take place, companies will want to track and report on these pieces of information. This is where our product attributes come in handy. They give recordable information for a particular product or a category of products.
Modifying Product Attributes
Most of your Product attribute modification will occur in Product information management setup. The three set up screens are:
1. Attributes
2. Attribute types
3. Attribute Groups
Adding Product Attributes
Although attributes cannot be added directly to an item we can add them through the category hierarchy. Remember that attributes are not dimensions (Size, Color, Config, and Style)
Menu: Product Information Management> Setup> Categories and attributes> Categories hierarchies.
We will then select a category, and using the hierarchy tree we can select a subcategory. Once the subcategory is chosen, navigate to the attribute fast tab, and click the right arrow button to add the group to the list and click OK.
This was intended to be a refresher on creating and maintain your attributes.
