What is Item Number Replacement?
One of the lesser known additions to the Enterprise Edition of QAD is functionality around:
- Item Number Replacement,
- Cross-Sell,
- Up-Sell during Sales Order Entry.
This is above and beyond the long-existing Customer Item functionality in Standard Edition. The relatively new functionality provides order entry personnel with directed prompts to replace an obsolete item, or to direct them to attempt a cross-sell or up-sell based on material availability or margin goals. This functionality can also enforce when two different complementary items must be ordered at the same time. This functionality can replace common customizations that Logan has seen at clients over the last 25 years.
